Job Description

Technical Editor

Transform technology into opportunity as a Technical Editor Senior with GDIT. A career in enterprise IT means connecting and enhancing the systems that matter most. At GDIT, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and play a meaningful part in improving agency operability.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Editor, you will provide services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will support the creation and publication of technical documentation and manuals.

You will support NETCOM in the collection and interpretation of technical data or information and coordination of layouts for publication to Army Enterprise programs at various life cycle stages. You will support NETCOM by providing technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned project or tasks.

We are looking to hire a full-time Technical Editor Senior to support our IT services contract located at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

HOW TECHNICAL EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • DoD and DA technical documentation development, parlance, and regulatory guidance.
  • Proofread, review, revise, and edit technical information for contractors and government employees with the end goal of producing accurate, clear, concise, and accessible written materials.
  • Read and edit documents for clarity, punctuation, grammar, style, and content, while adhering to Army and NETCOM rules and regulations concerning documentation.
  • Create, edit, update, and store NETCOM templates, as well as generate, assign, and store Document Control Numbers (DCNs). DCNs are important in that they give each document a clear, concise, and most importantly, unique identifier, used to locate the document when needed.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • ITIL® 4 Foundation Certification is beneficial, but not required.
