USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.
We are seeking an experienced SCM Asset Management Specialist who will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is critical in supporting change management, incident resolution, problem management, and continuous improvement of IT services. The Asset Management Lead will also oversee the lifecycle management of IT assets across the organization, ensuring assets are accurately tracked, managed, and optimized to support business needs and compliance standards. This role also focuses on maintaining asset integrity, reducing costs, and supporting IT service delivery by leveraging ITIL best practices.
How a SCM Asset Management Specialist will make an impact:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and Accountable Property Record (APR)
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of all standardized Configurable Items (CIs) data capture in the USSTRACOM APSR/CMDB/APR IAW USSTRATCOM SI 708-01
Maintain relationships and data models between CIs, ensuring alignment with ITIL and service management best practices
Will work closely with the Lifecycle Manager in A&E, to develop an Enterprise Lifecycle Management Plan (LCMP) that recommends the development, upgrade, modernization, transition, and/or decommission and disposal of USSTRATCOM Enterprise capabilities and IT infrastructure CIs
Collaborate with IT teams, SCITLS VMO, SCITLS Chief Technologist (CT) office, asset management, project management, and service management to integrate the CMDB with other IT service management processes (e.g., Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
Conduct audits as required IAW SI 708-01, of the APSR/CMDB/APR to ensure data integrity, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards and provide reports to the SCM monthly to include EOL issues and escalate accordingly
Collaborate with the SCM Manager, A&E, and VMO, to identify and implement approved actions from CSI2 for managing CI data and maintaining accurate configuration information in the APSR/CMDB/APR
Work with stakeholders to identify critical CIs and their dependencies for business continuity and disaster recovery planning
Assist the SCM to generate APSR/CMDB/APR reporting, metrics to support PRISM dashboards
Ensures alignment and adheres with USSTRATCOM SI 708-01 guidance and direction for operational management of IT hardware and software assets as part of the Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) framework
Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) based on regulation, guidance, and process changes in coordination with the SCM Manager
Quarterly meeting with the SCM Manager to review processes and procedures

Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years of experience
Security Clearance Level: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Preferred Certifications: ITIL v4 Foundation, SAFe Agilist (SA)

The likely salary range for this position is $94,676 - $128,092. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
