Job Description

The Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives for the GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector ensures successful operations and continued growth of DOD Navy/USMC programs. The role formulates and reviews strategic plans, provides enterprise leadership, direction, and management support and assists with the planning, supervision, and execution of all aspects of contract performance, executive level direction, scheduling, and technical performance while requiring strong interpersonal and communication abilities. 

HOW A STRATEGIC INITIATIVES SR DIRECTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
•    Drives business area’s strategic and long-range goal planning function focused on the Business Area’s largest contracts. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans.
•    Solves technical challenges, supports growth through RFI responses, proposals/white papers/orals presentations/technical reviews, ensures cross-sector collaboration, and engages with the CTO team.
•    Meets with customers to understand their challenges and represent GDIT capabilities to help position NMC for growth.
•    Works with Sector BD lead to ensure BD pipeline matches Sector’s strategic vision and quality and integrity of pipeline data is maintained.
•    Collaborates with BD/Capture on upcoming actions, required In-Process Reviews and Pursuit Reviews.
•    Reviews future project requirements and develops strategies for future work.
•    Participates in a wide variety of reviews throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle including black hats, capture reviews, Pursuit Reviews, and color team reviews.
•    Acts as conduit between Sector Operations and Corporate Growth to ensure Sector priority opportunities are properly resourced, capture/proposal process is properly prosecuted, and provide mentorship where necessary.
•    Monitors program Periods of Performance and ensure Business Area leads are effectively engaging with their program/project managers and customers to prepare for recompetes.
•    Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
● Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience and deep understanding of Navy and Marine Corps environment – mission, customer, and challenges.
● Required Technical Skills: Navy/USMC experience in mission software, networks, information technology and/or digital transformation. Strong knowledge of cloud, zero trust, artificial intelligence, modern software development and other innovative technologies
● Security Clearance Level: Secret Security Clearance Required
● Required Skills and Abilities: Experience in Business Development and Operations

● Preferred Skills: Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish solid working relationships with technical staff, division managers, and peers across the corporation
● Location: Falls Church, VA willing to consider remote
● US Citizenship Required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $183,498 - $247,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
