Job Description

Would you like to provide vision and senior leadership to drive HR compliance, data privacy initiatives, and records management as a Senior Manager, HR Compliance & Records?

A career as a Senior Manager, HR Compliance & Records at GDIT means a critical part of positioning this organization for success and evolving our function.  Here, you will set the vision to 1) lead the implementation of a new records management solution; 2) strategically manage all HR compliance programs, 3) maintain and expand our personal data privacy initiatives; and 4) manage people and processes equally well.  You’ll be an integral part of our HR leadership team to help grow and develop our experienced 5-person HR team as well as provide the full range of leadership:  large-scale vision and execution, mid-range project management, and daily team workflow.  You will find challenging work in a people-centric work environment that encourages you to own the experience in alignment with our company culture.  This opportunity will report to the Director of HR Compliance and work closely to strategically innovate these foundational HR compliance programs.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead the HR Compliance Operations team with a highly collaborative approach that enables program growth and maturity. 
  • Embrace and model GDIT’s people-focused ethos in partnership with team members, leaders, and employees across the company.
  • Transform and integrate HR records management systems: Unique opportunity to lead the implementation of a new document management system. Manage the migration of HR records from multiple legacy systems and platforms to the new solution.
  • Manage daily records operations including inventory, maintenance, legal hold, and retention of existing HR records in multiple platforms and formats, including offsite paper records.
  • Proactively identify and implement scalable operational efficiencies and effectiveness (to build capacity within the team, maximize performance) to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers)
  • Build and maintain trusted collaborative partnerships with key internal business stakeholders by delivering value-added support.
  • Provide strategic leadership for HR legal compliance initiatives to include: federal, state and local compliance programs; employment and wage notices; workplace poster program; subpoena response; and state sexual harassment training.
  • Monitor new compliance-related legislation and partner with Legal to identify and implement new requirements.
  • Ensure all HR policies are updated annually. Liaison with HR leaders for updates and serve as internal policy consultant.
  • Lead HR personal data privacy function to safeguard employee and other personal data.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, law, or related disciplines; OR in lieu of degree, equivalent combination of related education, training and relevant experience may be considered
  • 10+ years of experience serving in a leadership role overseeing HR compliance programs and motivating teams.
  • Highly skilled at building trusted relationships with employees and leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and partner with cross-functional teams in a collaborative and positive manner.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple long-term, mid-term, and short-term strategic and operational projects from initiation to completion. Ability to proactively solve and implement solutions to deliver on commitments.
  • Experience with independently managing high-volume (25K+ active employee base) records management systems and physical records inventory. Experience with Human Resources records management and business processes.
  • Ability to manage the implementation of systems-based solutions and records migration in collaboration with IT professionals. Demonstrated experience in system implementation and migration preferred.
  • Expertise in HR legal compliance requirements related to federal, state and local laws; employment and wage notices; workplace posters; and state-required training.
  • Experience with personal data privacy requirements to protect U.S. and OCONUS employee data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, collaboration and customer service mindset is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office functions (Excel and PowerPoint in particular) is required.
  • Possess a positive, persistent, and a production-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and adjust to the changing needs of the business with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead with cultural awareness and sensitivity and an understanding of diverse and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to lead with the highest level of ethical decision making and sound judgment.
  • Experience with Workday HCM and ATS is preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint is preferred.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $134,597 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
