Program Highlight: Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC)

As prime contractor on the DVBIC program, GD Health provides highly qualified research, policy, analytic, education and healthcare professionals with expertise on traumatic brain injury (TBI) at 23 Army, Navy and VA medical treatment hospitals. As a congressionally-mandated, multi-site program established in 1992, the DVBIC program provides TBI clinical investigation, surveillance, education and clinical care. Through the DVBIC program General Dynamics Health Solutions’ researchers and healthcare professionals:

  • Treat and track more than 8,500 TBI patients a year to measure the impact of care on long term health and occupational outcomes
  • Conduct 72 different clinical research studies – to include a 15-year congressional directed study
  • Educate political leaders, caregivers, clinicians, and the general public to provide and improve evidence-based, best practice TBI care for service members, veterans and their families.

GD Health ensures active duty military, veterans and their families receive evidenced-based, best practice TBI care, while improving the standard of care for the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the nation.
