General Dynamics to Support Indian Health Service Mission Needs

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received an award from the Indian Health Service, an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to provide full software development lifecycle services to support mission needs. The IHS is responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The single award has a potential value of approximately $94 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, General Dynamics will provide program and product management, application security and application analysis and design, development and testing for the Resource and Patient Management System. Work on this contract will be based in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

Notable support has been provided to the Health Care Quality Improvement System, the Chronic Condition Data Warehouse, the Retiree Drug Subsidy program, the Drug Data Processing System and the Payment Reconciliation System.
