Ethics in business has long been a hallmark of General Dynamics IT.  We remain committed to applying the highest standards of ethics and integrity in every aspect of what we do.  We engage in ethical business practices, comply with the laws everywhere General Dynamics IT conducts business, and provide a proper and professional work environment for all employees. Our employees understand the key role they play in preserving our reputation for excellence, and they take this responsibility seriously.

General Dynamics IT provides tools and resources that help our employees do the right thing. With these resources available at all times and through recurring mandatory training, we give our employees the support they need to understand and uphold our standards of ethical business conduct.

  • Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct: Our Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct employee handbook, commonly known as the "Blue Book," sets out our expectation that all employees conduct business in accordance with the law, our policies, our values and our business ethics principles. We encourage our employees to follow its guidance as they make day to day decisions.  We also expect our suppliers, vendors, contractors and joint-venture partners to develop ethics and compliance programs consistent with our values.

  • Ethics Helpline: Finally, we reinforce our ethics program with resources and tools like our Ethics Helpline, available at all times in numerous languages. We investigate and resolve all matters promptly, discreetly and professionally. Community Engagement and Corporate Giving

We believe businesses have a responsibility make a positive impact on the communities in which they operate. Through volunteerism and financial contributions, we strive to improve the areas in which our employees live, work, and play. We support a core group of charities that resonate with our employees, align with our customers, and represent our values and the diverse market in which we operate.

  • Supporting our Military: Our long history of supporting the U.S. Military also encompasses service members both in and out of uniform. We strive to partner with organizations that make an impact on the lives of veterans and active duty service members and give our employees the opportunity to engage personally with these efforts. We are a proud supporter of the USO, TAPS, and many other non-profits focused on the well-being of our military members and their families.

  • Health: We support health organizations that impact our employees and align with our businesses, and wherever possible incorporate our wellness programs. We are a long-standing supporter of The Children’s Inn at NIH, American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light and The Night Walk, among others.

  • STEM: Students involved in STEM are the future of our company and country, and with that in mind we support organizations that help to advance STEM education and programming. We are a proud partner of Girls Who Code, serving as the first corporate sponsor in the state of Louisiana.

  • Family and Social Services: We support organizations that promote the welfare of others and equality for all, and benefit the communities in which we reside. We partner with the Autism Society of Northern Virginia and DC Central Kitchen among others, to help achieve these goals.

Employee Resource Groups

Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an integral part of our Diversity & Inclusion strategy. These employee-led groups are formed around common interests, backgrounds, or issues, and are aligned with our mission, values, and goals. All ERGs are aligned around three common goals: Support the business, develop themselves and give back to the community.

We support the efforts of organizations who promote industry opportunities for a diverse workforce as well as those who recognize excellence in the engineering field.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

Established in 1950, the Society of Women Engineers is now a global organization of more than 30,000 members. SWE exists to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expanding the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving quality of life and demonstrating the value of diversity.

Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) STEM Global Competitive Conference

Now in its 30th year, the BEYA STEM conference is a three-day event for corporate, government and educational organizations and leaders to recognize, highlight and network among talented engineering executives, professionals, graduate and undergraduate students of color.

Black Data Processing Association (BDPA)

For 40 years, BDPA has enabled the upward mobility of African Americans and other minorities in the Information Technology (IT) and STEM fields. The National High School Computer Competition (HSCC) program has introduced tens of thousands of high school students to coding and application development while also presenting opportunities for students to obtain college scholarships. Because of BDPA’s focus on students and professional members alike, they continue to support and lead the upward success of our members “from the classroom to the boardroom”.

DC Business Leadership Network (DCBLN)

The DC Metro Business Leadership Network (DC Metro BLN) promotes the best practices in hiring, retaining, and marketing to people with disabilities in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Suburban Maryland. Their mission is "Driving Success through Disability Inclusion,” and goal is to change attitudes and address concerns of businesses.

Women in Technology (WIT)

Women in Technology (WIT) has the sole aim of advancing women in technology -- from the classroom to the boardroom.  WIT meets its vision through a variety of leadership development, technology education, networking and mentoring opportunities for women at all levels of their careers.
