But amidst budget constraints and security concerns, prioritization in investments that have the greatest return show highest priority given to cloud and IT operations, with a look to artificial intelligence providing the greatest future mission impact.
Security concerns (48%) and cost (43%) remain the top obstacles to adopting mission technologies as cited by nearly half of respondents.
Over the past year, cloud has delivered the most on expected benefits (61%) and also the best cost savings (49%).
IT operations and automation are delivering mission benefits that outweigh the cost to implement, followed closely by telemedicine (66%) and cloud (57%).
AI is expected to have the highest near-future impact and benefits to the mission, despite current low investment. AI is also cited by over half (61%) as having significant and transformative impact.
