In 2014, General Dynamics Information Technology and the state of Louisiana created a partnership establishing the Integrated Technology Centers at the National Cyber Research Park to generate 800 professional technology careers within four years. In 2018, GDIT exceeded its commitment to the state and local governments with over 1,000 employees in Northwest Louisiana among its different facilities.
The ITCs offer quality services at competitive costs due to highly effective managed services, leveraged labor, and dedicated services models. Our leveraged labor model is the cornerstone of GDIT’s vision for the ITCs and demonstrates a fundamental shift from dedicated labor to a more cost effective leveraged labor and managed services model.
Through partnerships with local higher education institutions- Louisiana Tech, Bossier Parish Community College, Northwestern State University, LSU-Shreveport, Southern University and Grambling State University- GDIT actively engages with academia to align their curriculum with industry-identified needs. This cyber and next-generation technology ecosystem in North Louisiana elevates the caliber of local graduates, creating a prime pipeline for new talent at the ITCs.
Recruiting from nearby Barksdale Air Force Base has provided GDIT with an additional pipeline of talent in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. Thirty percent of GDIT’s Northwest Louisiana employees are military veterans- a great source of pride for General Dynamics. Veterans’ commitment to the federal government mission and strong work ethic are key for GDIT and its customers.
As next-generation IT centers of excellence, the ITCs allow GDIT to deliver outstanding offerings to solve our customers’ complex technical problems by applying creative and proven approaches that leverage emerging technologies.
